How does it work?

European airlines that want to emit CO2 in Europe must have so-called CO2 emission permits. For every ton of CO2 airlines emit, they have to hand over 1 emission permit. Aviation is part of the overall EU Emissions Trading System ETS. This system must ensure that aviation will invest in sustainable aircraft and fuel. But because CO2 emission permits are very cheap and the aviation sector gets more than 80 percent of their 'pollution rights' free of charge, the price incentive for sustainability remians absent. Carbonkiller sells and destroys CO2 emission permits directly from the EU Emissions Trading System. Thanks to your intervention, there is less space left for EU super polluters to emit greenhouse gases.
